The joy of the Lord is something that every Christian seeks. In this Skit Package, Zelda continues to struggle with the pain of watching her parents fight. The other characters (Harvey, Tina, and Clem) try to cheer Zelda up with outings and gifts, but everything they try only gives Zelda a short period of joy. Pastor Rufus talks with Zelda and helps her focus on the joy that God can give her. He tells Zelda, and the children, that the unending love and care that God has given us gives us a deep joy that can’t be taken away by “bad” things that happen in life. Zelda understands that keeping her eyes on Jesus is the only thing that can comfort her in times of trouble.
