Description
In this “Skermon” (skit/sermon) about the importance of teaching God’s word to our families from generation to generation, a voice-over reading of Deut. 6:1-9 sets the stage for the pastor to refer to four frozen stage pictures of family life.
On the pastors cue, he steps aside and the first scene comes to life, showing that God is with us always, especially in scary situations. The pastor expounds on that point, and then introduces the next scene, in which God expects us to have integrity as believers. After he explains that our “actions truly do speak louder than words,” the next scene illustrates that bedtime is a good time to remind children who God is. After explaining that parenting is really a job that takes 24 hours per day, seven days a week, the final scene provides an example of the calm that only God can bring into our lives.
