Skits In this Volume

  • Skit Package 1: “Why Do We Worship?” (John 3: 16; 1 Peter 3: 15; 2 Timothy 2: 15; Exodus 33: 12)

Zelda calls it “saving her life,” Harvey simply helped her when she fell off her bike. The children will watch as Zelda insists on praising Harvey and singing about him. We will explain the motivation for worshiping God with special emphasis on singing as a form of worship.

  • Skit Package 2: “Worshiping God Through Prayer” (Nehemiah 8: 6; Matthew 6: 5-13)

Tina learns that those we love deserve to be spoken to with respect, and Zelda’s “thank list” becomes too long as she learns that prayers of thankfulness are a great way of worshipping God. Meanwhile, Harvey is confronted with a prayer of forgiveness. We will show the children that Jesus taught His disciples how to pray in the Lord’s Prayer.

  • Skit Package 3: “Worshipping God Through Tithes and Offerings” (Gen. 28:22; Deut. 14:22; Matt. 2:1-13; Esth. 9:19)

After the confused characters bring their old clothes and toys to the church as a gift for the missionaries, Pastor Rufus has to explain what a “tithe” is and why God asks us to worship Him by giving our tithes and our offerings.

  • Skit Package 4: “Your Body – The Temple Of The Holy Spirit” (Psalm 139:23; 1 Cor. 3:16)

While visiting the hospital, the children see X Rays of good and bad organs. They then discover that the Spirit of God no longer lives in man-made temples as in Old Testament days, but that we, as Christians, now have the Holy Spirit living within us. We worship God by keeping our bodies, His “living temples,” pure and undefiled.

  • Skit Package 5: “Worshipping God Through Your Actions” (1Cor. 10:31; Col. 3:17; Rom. 12:1, 2)

Harvey tries his best to be a good example to the rest of the characters as they consider cheating on a test and ignoring a “No Trespassing” sign. They learn that through their actions God can be worshipped.

  • Skit Package 6: “Worship God No Matter What!” (Rom. 8:28, 35-39; Phil. 4:6, 7, 11, 13, 19; 1Thes. 5:16-18)

The Abercrombie family has a terrible day! In the middle of that day, Dad shares a message of hope from the scriptures and tells the family to worship God even during “bad” times. God gives us the grace and the strength to handle bad days with His help. Our reactions to difficulties are testimonies to others around us who do not know Christ as their personal savior.
